by Maria Filimonenko, OSI Ultimate

We met on the wet grass of Frognerparken and decorated the playing field with colorful flags, which added to the energy and fun while people new to the sport came out and registered to play.
Activities started with Double Disc Court and alternative disc games (Hot Box, Flabber), after which we moved on to ultimate. Beginners were first introduced to the rules and spirit of ultimate before proceeding to drills. Players with a bit of experience were provided new and more complex drills, organized by Rajmund Mokso of EZ Ultimate.
Lunch was at noon. A short demo game of ultimate was played while sausages were grilled. At break time, an informal throw-run-catch (TRC) contest was held. Henrik Sköld was the clear winner, with Bjorn Thomas and Wolfgang Maehr sharing second place.
The final and most fun part of the workshop was the ultimate competition, played as a HAT tournament with three mixed teams: Winnie the Poohs, Eeyores, and Tiggers. After the competition games, Winnie the Poohs (lead by Bjorn) came in first place and received their well deserved victory chocolates.
Everyone enjoyed the workshop. Participants included people who had never played ultimate before, visitors from Ås (Wizards), a veteran player with two unstoppable kids, as well as players from OSI Ultimate and EZ Ultimate.
Thanks to everyone for bringing positive vibes and to my OSI comrades for helping to organize.
We'll meet again soon!
